Capturing with bad light
You're outdoors. You're dependent on the eccentricity of the sun and clouds. But you still need to get that shot. YC Imaging has some very basic and ground level tips on what to do with bad lighting to still get the good shot. And none of it involves kilobuck lights and portable generators. Take a look:
Simple and relatively easy, and inexpensive. We've found that automotive sun deflectors work great as well - big wrinkly silver boards for a diffuse light on the shadowed face.
