Yes, I know I keep posting on how it's the photographer, not the gear. But sometimes having the right gear at the right place enables you to capture that photo that would be just out of reach with a budget zoom lens etc. So, still keeping it on a budget, lets see what refurbished or used kit is out there as we prep for the Spring and Summer sports, scouts and event shoots!
Wide Angle (35mm equivalent): Canon 24mm f2.8 prime
Standard Lens - the 'goldilox' Canon 40mm f/2.8
About the Canon 40mm lens from Ken Rockwell
Or the 'Nifty 50' Canon 50mm f/1.8 - shoots like a 75mm prime on an APS-C camera.
Mid Telephoto (165mm equivalent): Canon 100mm f.2,0 prime. Good for shooting indoor sports where you need as much light as you can get. Almost too long for league and school basketball; get in the top row of the bleachers
Alos available much cheaper (without the USM) from the Used Gear at Overland Photo Supply
Just a few bits of glass I'm interested in; it'd be nice to shoot primes with impressive fixed f-stops.
